KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
Fourteen Holy Martyrs Council of the Knights of Columbus, a fraternal organization of practicing Catholic men age 18 and older,
was instituted on June 6, 1991, to serve the families of Southwest Baltimore. St. Benedict Parish center is the home site to
the Council members, who meet here on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 8 p.m. Contact (410) 947-4988 for directions
to the current Grand Knight who will provide further details and application forms. 
PARISH NURSING AT SAINT BENEDICT CHURCH
The Parish Nursing Program at Saint Benedict integrates the healing ministry of
Jesus Christ and the Church with traditional medical and health care services.
Parish Nursing seeks to reclaim and reaffirm the Benedictine and Christian
Church's original mission of concern for the whole person - body, mind and
soul.
Parish Nursing is a unique and specialized practice of professional nursing
which relies on the independent functions of: Health Education:
Counseling, Advocacy & Referral
Parish Nurses may provide, upon request, Health and Medical Care Needs
Assessments and can assist individuals and families in accessing appropriate
care and support service--to support individuals and their families in their efforts to Prevent Disease
and Promote Health.
Parish Nursing supports the vital ministry of the Church as a healing
community.
Through independent nursing functions, the Parish Nurse embraces scriptural
guidance in structuring the events and activities needed by the faith community.
Parish Nursing seeks to be a resource in assisting those served in sustaining a
peaceful and fulfilling life with God.
Parish Nursing promotes and celebrates the dignity and wholeness of each
person.
Parish nurse provides guidance and encourages personal and social responsibility
for one's health and health maintenance.

St. Agnes Health Care System collaborates with St. Benedict Parish by supporting
the development of the Parish Nursing Program. St. Agnes also provides resources
to is committed to acting as a resource for parish based initiatives promoting
health and preventing disease.
MUSIC MINISTRY
The Music Ministry of St. Benedict parish is comprised of a music director who oversees the music program as a whole, and is responsible for all music
required for liturgical celebrations.

In addition, we have a choir director, parish choir, cantors and various instrumentalists such as the Benedictine Brass and the Bell Choir who assist the parish in encouraging greater liturgical participation through sung prayer.

ST. BENEDICT SCHOOL ALUMNI
This is an organization of Alumni of St. Benedict Parish School.
The group sponsors reunions and other
events to promote fellowship and to encourage
former parishioner-alumni to return to their home
parish. Contact the parish office for more information.

PARISH RECORDS
The parish office maintains extensive records on the members of St. Benedict parish, including baptismal records, addresses, phone numbers, sacraments received, etc.
If there are any changes to be made on
your records, i.e., if you have
moved, or have new members in the family, please inform the parish office of
these changes.
SCOUT TROOPS
St. Benedict parish hosts a Cub Scout Pack. The scouts meet in the parish hall on designated nights. If you are interested, please call the parish office for more information.
