St. Benedict Parish is setting forth on its mission to help serve the needs of its parishioners and those who are looking to become members of our family.

Our Mission as a parish is to foster love of God, self and neighbor in the Benedictine tradition. To bring the love of God means to be ourselves as we live and breathe, realizing that it is only through God's grace that we can share this love with all those in our parish. If God is to be the center of our mission, then we must share the experience of the grace of the Holy Spirit whose existence helps to bring about the spirit of community and fellowship.

This community is expressed not only in the given area but also in the community that must be reached: the unchurched. Hence, this needs to be developed and fostered by all of us at St. Benedict. The Priests and staff go about daily reaching out to our community.

However, we are not always aware of those whose voices are not being heard. Therefore, we need to work this mission inclusively which means that all of us are called by our baptism to seek and teach those who are less fortunate. These are the people that need God's grace, the grace to enliven in themselves a sense of value and purpose. So, as parish, let us join our efforts to reach out and proclaim that we are children of God.

By our words and deeds, we are ready, willing and able to go out and preach the Word of God to all who, for whatever reason, need to hear from us.

Community means to be in community with others, not just a selected group. It also means to reach beyond our boundaries to others. Let the bells ring out and take hold of those who are searching to hear the ringing. Whereby, hearing this sound, they are able to more readily find the source of strength and to provide for a more peaceful and fulfilling life in God, neighbor and self.
